LAS Launching Municipal Group Buying Program at AMO Conference
You asked and we listened! We heard that municipalities wanted more choice when it came to everyday products. That’s why LAS is looking forward to launching our newest program, designed to help Ontario municipalities simplify procurement and save time. The Municipal Group Buying Program will provide access to key products and services municipalities use every day.
This Program is a partnership with municipal associations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Newfoundland, providing economies of scale to give great pricing. Combined, this purchasing group is open to more than 1600 municipal governments, or approximately 40% of Canada’s municipalities.
All offerings, contracts, and documents are in full compliance with trade agreements like CFTA and CETA. Competitive public procurement is used to select vendors, allowing the sector to avoid the time and expense of running their own tenders. Products can be purchased through local vendors using the buying power of national accounts – some of these are the largest in the country!
The program will start with the following offerings from well-known vendors:
- Tires (both on-road and off-the-road)
- Fleet Leasing
- Traffic Safety and Control
- Office supplies and furniture
- A wide range of additional products including rentals, heavy equipment, tractors and more!
LAS will be exploring additional products to include in the Program based on Ontario municipal need.
Further details will be made available at the AMO Conference on August 18-21 2019. LAS staff will be on hand at the trade show (Booth 104) to talk about the Program and answer questions you may have. For those attending the conference, be sure to attend our Insight Breakfast on Tuesday August 20, Did You Get the Best Price?
