Procuring for Energy Efficiency Workshop Image of LED lightbulb

The Procuring for Energy Efficiency workshop is geared towards all staff, board members and/or elected officials, and others interested in learning best methods of procuring for energy related goods and services. It is applicable to anyone working in public sector organizations in Ontario. This workshop features all-new content!

The dynamic and interactive workshop will focus on building and analysing procurement documents so that public sector agencies can evaluate products and services based on the entire life cycle costs of the item/service, rather than traditional methods of evaluation, which focus mainly on technical capability and cost. It will empower participants to use tools to understand the basics of life cycle costing, utilize take-home software to analyze energy related bid submissions, and shift focus toward products with long life and greater savings over time.

All participants will receive a detailed workshop package and access to a toolkit with loads of information about best practices… and much more. This workshop will help you procure many of the projects identified in your Regulation 397/11 required Energy Conservation Plan and will equip you to help Boards and Council to understand why lowest initial cost is not always the best option.

The energy workshop for 2017 has now been completed. Stay tuned for 2018 dates and locations.

This workshop was facilitated by Stephen Dixon and Kim Dooling and was funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Energy, Conservation Programs & Partnerships Branch.
